Valley Forge Signal Seekers

Flying in Valley Forge National Historical Park
Since 1959

AMA Club# 575

The Valley Forge Signal Seekers (VFSS) Radio Controlled Model Airplane Club is one of the largest and oldest clubs of its kind in the United States. Founded in 1959, with over 120 members.

We fly electric, gas, and glow-fuel powered planes and rotorcraft, as well as gliders and turbine powered jets.  We fly because we love it.  We build because we love the challenge of it.  Our first priority is to stay safe while we have fun.

We fly off of a well-groomed grass runway (475 x 125) with a flight line that provides a beautiful view of the park.

Our pilots enjoy a relaxed and welcoming environment with interesting and well-attended events year-round.  We have an optional members-only mobile communication app where you can let others know when you’ll be flying.  Flying with friends is just more fun!  We are dedicated to sharing the fun by helping those interested in the hobby learn to fly RC model aircraft.

We have a training program at our club where you can learn to fly RC Planes! We’ll provide a club plane and an experienced Trainer Pilot who uses a "buddy box" system to help ensure a safe and fun learning experience.

We are fortunate enough to call Valley Forge National Historical Park our home flying field.

There is so much to do at Valley Forge National Historical Park, whether you want to immerse yourself in history, recreation, or catch many of the on-site events.

There are guided or self-guided tours of the historic encampment of 1777-78, where you can experience both original and reconstructed buildings that were built and used by George Washington and the Continental Army.

In addition to its historical importance, Valley Forge National Historical Park boasts over 35 miles of designated hiking and biking trails, as well as several picnic areas.  There are many stunning meadows and woodlands to explore, as well as Valley Creek and the Schuylkill River.

For updates on the latest events and activities, as well as directions and park rules, visit Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board as well as the National Park Service.
